HOW IT WORKS - AND FOR WHOM

Consultancy:

1. Meet & greet: Discuss the services, fees and your currrent needs / jobs
2. Analysis: Site visit, gather information & assess the job.
3. Report back: Meeting to report on suggested action to be taken and time prediction.
4. Follow up site visits: Will be determined as required during the progress of the job.
5. Invoicing: Invoicing is done on a weekly basis.

Typical clients would include:

  • Companies who facilitate training courses / need to give training for employers on all levels of civil construction
  • Companies who don't have the capacity to employ a full time Site Agent; Contracts Manager; Engineer; Quantity Surveyor; Procurement Manager
  • Companies who do have the capacity to employ the above, but only need someone on an as-and-when basis
  • Newly established companies, with very little / nil experience, who are in need of knowledge and on-site training
  • Companies not directly involved in construction (e.g. Plant / Development / Private), needing the expertise of a contractor due to temporary involvement in a civil construction contract.
  • Small companies, where the owner needs to take care of his business, while someone keeps an eye on his jobs / employees.

FEES AND PAYMENTS

Services are charged per hour, from the first assessment and any subsequent time spent on the job, including travelling time.
A travelling rate is charged, comparative to the standard AA rates, from & to our office as well as any other on-site travelling.
Invoicing is done on a weekly basis, with payment terms within 4 working days from the invoice date - following suspension of further work until the account has been settled.

What we DON'T DO:

  1. We don't criticise, rather advise and concentrate on problem solving
  2. We don't draw up tenders, but we do fill them in
  3. We don't compile safety files, but we can refer you to someone, and assist with the adherence to safety requirements and laws.
  4. No Building and house constructions
  5. No contract employment - only consultancy work for brief periods
  6. We don't supply Resident Engineers

Note: This is not Civil Engineering Consultancy in the "traditional sense" (drawing up plans etc.), but rather practical, on-site, Construction Consultancy
